Cake for the wonderful folks that work at our local comic book store. Why? Just because. They're always friendly and helpful, they have great loot at their store, and it's great having a comic shop so close by (helps me spend what little leftover cake money I have... ;) ). Moon is lemon cake with vanilla buttercream; bottom tier is 8" chocolate fudge cake with dark chocolate buttercream. Cakes are covered with fondant. Buildings are gumpaste with stenciled royal icing windows. Sound effects are gumpaste with edible images. A fun cake to make (especially the moon craters)!
