I actually did this last year for my neighbor. It was a last minute request so I was looking for something fairly simple. Found it on the cover of my Southern Living's Christmas issue! Rough iced buttercream with fondant red ribbon with white fondant stripes. I didn't have time to do any of the details I wanted but it still looks pretty good. 8" square, three layer lemon cake with raspberry filling.
