This seems to be a trend where the cake adorns no icing only the filling between the layers and in this there is a decadent strawberry butter cream icing. This was my 1st time doing a cake like this and I have a mix of gum paste flowers set in with real and strawberries to garnish the layers. It's a little wonky on the top and I'm not sure how that happened as I was diligent when leveling. This cake is a gift and the bride and my friend loved it so all is good, if I were to do this again I would certainly try a different leveling technique.
