My stepfather asked me to make a sympathy cake for the same day for a member of his church who had just lost their father. With my limited resources, this is what I came up with. It's butter cake with chocolate bavarian cream filling, buttercream icing, and a fresh football mum and greens (not sure what the name of them are). I covered the board in pale yellow fondant and painted it to give it the hardwood look. This is my first time ever using this textured buttercream look.
