I baked this for my boyfriend's birthday, his tattoos inspired me to make this a very personal cake. The bread is blue velvet cake with cream cheese icing for filling, covered in cream cheese icing. I painted all the tattoos free-hand in black colored buttercream by piping the boarders of the tattoos, then by using various sizes of brushes I did brush embroidery I also used black coloring with Vodka to paint webs, teeth and other stuff, I painted the rose with red coloring and vodka. The single rose was my cake topper with the black painted rose petal edges, it went on last just before we sang happy birthday. I also filled my piping bag with red and black colored buttercream, piped swirly rosettes, I colored my lips with the red coloring and vodka and kissed the cake to get the kiss print and I painted over it to give it more color.
