This cake was for the 60th birthday celebration of a retired carpenter, who loves red wine and cheese. I made a cake in the shape of a carpenter's toolbox, with all the tools (made from modelling chocolate) discarded on the board next to the cake. The toolbox is now filled with a bottle of red wine sculpted from gum paste (with an edible image label describing the birthday boy) and cheeses made from modelling chocolate.
