Hi there! Great cake! Would you share how you did the emblem and flag? I am assuming fondant? Thanks in advance.
Hi abdevoss. Thanks! The USAF seal is an edible image that I ordered online. I baked a large sugar cookie and covered it with white fondant, then applied the sugar sheet/edible image. It was my first time using one on fondant and I added too much water. Lesson learned, I only need enough to make the fondant slightly sticky. It caused the image to wrinkle up and colors to bleed but not as noticeable after it all dried. Then, I rolled out two long pieces of fondant to twist together for the rope and painted it with gold dust. You're right, the flag is just fondant. I used red strips spaced out on a white background. I added some black to the red to make it darker because the American flag does not have tomato red stripes :)
