Communion Cake

This was a communion cake for a dear friend of mine. Bottom tier is pink filigree, top tier is quilted with a bit of a cushion effect and the flowers are from a tutorial Marina Sousa has on Craftsy. Love the look of modern ruffled flowers when they're highlighted/painted.

Cheers!

Hi, I first painted the edges of the flower with silver dust/vodka (Marina Sousa had a class on this) and then, once dry, I highlighted the edges with pink disco dust/vodka. I would dip a small brush into the vodka, then directly into the pink dust, then apply to the border of the flowers :)

The actual brand of dust was from nycake.com : Baby Pink   . It's one of the only dusts I've found in pink that are light (kind of like baby pink).

Thanks !
