I made this cake for a (nearly) 50th anniversary. My client gave me a general idea of what she wanted, and was awesome enough to trust me with the design. I used my almond lavender cake recipe, filled it with strawberry buttercream, and covered the cake in homemade marshmallow fondant. The pearls and the rose are completely handmade from gumpaste. This was my first attempt at a realistic rose, and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. =) All of the gold on the cake is hand painted.
