purple/ mauve wedding cake with handmade roses. I did a lot of researching on how to get the flowers to STAY purple, since it always fades/ or turns blue, and i had to start making all these roses a few days ahead... I added 1 teaspoon of baking powder to 500gms/ 1 pound of fondant and used americolor violet instead of wilton. I stored them in a cardboard box until i was putting them on. They did fade slightly, but i had made them a bit darker than the ribbon for that reason, so it actually worked! The few i had left over have been in the sun for about 3 days and one is really blue, but the rest are still mauve!
