I wasn't sure how I was going to do the side accents and my first plan really went astray. But I used the scraps and created the design on the side of the cake. I was excited that such a bad mistake turned out to be kinda neat. I liked using the feathers that were the same color as the ribbon, I thought it brought all layers together. The hearts on the cake were cut from fondant and glued to the ake with Royal Icing .
