Fuschia & Brown Wedding Cake

This cake was made purely out of love - and I couldn't pass up the challenge! My cousin was getting married and I offered to do the cake as my gift. Then they told me they wanted to feed 280 people!! I still accepted. I live in BC, Canada and the wedding was 3 provinces over in Manitoba. That's halfway across the country. I brought all my dry ingredients and a huge plastic tote of supplies, and bought my eggs, milk, etc. there. We were staying at my Aunt's Bed & Breakfast so I got to use the kitchen. There were also 120 cupcakes to go with the cake to give enough servings.

I had so much fun making this cake and on the day I was doing the cupcakes some of my cousins pitched in and we had quite the team going.

The cake is 4", 6", 8", 10" & 12" tiers covered in MMF with RI piping, gumpaste roses (which I made at home and packaged very carefully for the long roadtrip), fabric ribbon borders and Swarovski crystal seashell drops on top. There are also crystal accents around the roses but they are hard to see in the photo.
