I was supose to make a pirate treasure chest for a good friends daughter's baby shower, but I had a family emergency and had to break the news that I would not be able to make her cake before I left. Her cake was do on Sunday, but I needed to leave very early morning the Friday prior. Not wanting to dissappoint her or her daughter, I offered to make filled cupcakes instead and to make them extra special I'd make special toppers to go on them. Well, these are the toppers I came up with. The color scheme for her pirate themed baby shower was red, black, white and brown. I mixed and matched the colors of their outfit's with different colored dots. I made a total of 48 baby pirate's. 24 cupcakes were chocolate filled w/vanilla bavarian cream and 24 cupcakes were vanilla filled w/chocolate bavarian cream. Each cupcake was topped with vanilla buttercream & a pirate baby. I was so happy they absolutely loved them.
