Oh this cake gave me grief.. probably my worst yet! I made my first batch of homemade white chocolate rolled fondant.. UURRGH.. it started snowing and the temps dropped and the fondant kept going so freakin firm it was impossible to work with.. thus the need for the draping around the bottom of the tiers - there was more folding in my fondant than a curtain store! However, I arrive at the venue to find the tables set up so rustic and Australian.. and notice that the chairs are wrapt with hessian bows! My draped ribbon on the cake blended perfectly.. Happy ending :)
Beautifully done. I've had difficulty finding pictures and instructions for a ribbon around the base of a cake layer that is draped instead of flat. This is a little different from the one picture I found on-line but close.
