My daughter wanted a guitar cake for her birthday. I cut out the body of the guitar from a 9x13 and covered it with fondant. The neck of the guitar was fondant-covered styrofoam adhered to posterboard since the cake did not need to feed many children. I then airbrushed the guitar to make the colors come alive. She also wanted gelatin butterflies on the guitar. They're hard to see, but they are there.
