Shark Cake

This was a really fun cakd to make for my son's birthday. I made it in 2009. I shaped the whole cake and covered it with fondant. The side fins are made from fondant and the top and back are made using rice crispies and covering with fondant. They are pretty sorry looking because it was my first time sculpting and covering rice crispies. I had the hardest time getting them to stay on without tipping. I then airbrushed the whole cake with shades of gray. That too was a new experience. My favorite part of the cake would have to be the inside. RED VELVET gave the perfect look for the shark meat. My son loved this cake. However, he did get a surprise with the pink cake in the background. I told him that if he didn't start behaving he would get a princess pink cake for his birthday and that is the fist cake he saw (it was just a frosted box). He was pretty upset until he saw the real cake.
