I made this cake for my kids' school play Cast Party. This cake was my 3rd cake. You can see my others here at CC. It needed to feed at least 200 people. It took me about a week to make. The sheet cake is both yellow and devil's food. Three of the 8 inch rounds are yellow cake, 1 is devil's food. Willy Wonka's hat in the middle is all cake, stabilized with a steel pipe in the middle. All characters are fondant. I used a 4 inch styrofoam ball covered in fondant for Violet. I used cereal treats for the TV and Veruca Salt's box. The kids at the school went crazy and I let the main characters keep their figures.
