The cake is iced in buttercream, and the fisherman is made from fondant (my first ever attempt at using fondant). The sand is made from vanilla wafer crumbs, and the rocks are chocolate candy rocks. The weeds are pieces of an artificial plant (found at a pet store in the aquarium accessories section), and his fishing rod was taken from a Wilton fisherman figurine (I purchased him just in case the fondant fisherman didn't work out!). Finally, the "Gone Fishin'" sign is a graham cracker iced on to a wooden lollipop stick.
