This is a basket ball cake made for a school's girls basketball team. The backboard is a half sheet cake and the ball was an 8"round carved cake. I made the whole cake chocolate. I froze the round cake before I carved it - which made it a lot easier. The whole cake is covered in MMF, including the decorations. I pressed a towel all over the ball to give it a textured look (not showing up in the picture). The basketball net is royal icing and the boarders are buttercream icing.
