This is the cake i made for my mother in law for mothersday. its a 10" round lemon cake, with lemon BC. its supposed to be a beach in dartmouth (she has a second home there) and the grassy border is to represent the walkways/hillsides. the bucket, spade, flowers, white border and sign post (reads: the river dart) are all fondant. the sea is royal icing. the sand is crushed up ice cream cones mixed with light brown sugar and gold luster dust. the grass is hand painted with lots of shades of green paste colour (mixed with vodka) I have now added a fondant and tylo modle of my mother in law as i felt it needed something else, it looked a little bare....
