I made this cake for my boyfriend who was leaving for OCS as a Naval Flight Officer in the Navy, and choosing the precision flying team of the Navy, the Blue Angels, seemed natural. The cake is chocolate with a chocolate fudge filling, and the frosting is buttercream with color flow for the jets. This was my first experience with color flow, and a warning to anyone else new to it- as soon as these jets were in contact with the buttercream icing they started getting oil spots!
