This is my first pillar cake. Topping the cake are gumpaste seagulls flying over a fondant beach with brown sugar sand and molded chocolate starfish and seashells. Between the tiers are royal icing starfish and seashells. The second tier are the waves made from hard candy. Between the second tier is a gumpaste clam w/pearl and sea turtle. The last tier has gumpaste coral and fish. I used fruit by the foot for seaweed and gumpaste for some of the coral. This cake won me best in show at our county fair. Woo hoo!
