Red velvet cake inside (head also), black tinted bittersweet choc (corn syrup recipe), Neck is a white ceramic candle holder that I placed thru a hole I carved into bottom of cake so that it can sit directly onto board (replaced as much carved out cake as would go back in). Small white condiment saucer sits between head and neck. Characters and necktie were done in hard drying royal icing ahead of time. So that the characters have a nice curve to them when placed on the side of the cake- (it sounds complicated to explain, but...) I clipped parchment paper onto a curved side of a cake lid, so as they dried they were curved. Sometimes I have a pattern under the parchment in which I trace, sometimes I don't. None of my cakes are sold, so I can pretty much trace what I want w/o worrying about copyright issues. This was for my friends Bday.
