This was a last minute wedding cake for my daughter's best friend's brother. He eloped while stationed in Washington. His sister and Mom planned a reception here in SC for when he would be home on leave before he goes to Iraq. He and his wife were expecting a party not a reception. Jen and her mom decided at the last minute it would be cool to give them a wedding cake. Due to my vacation I only had 1 week to get details worked out. I don't normally do wedding cakes but couldn't turn down my daughter's best friend. I searched Cake Central for ideas and suggested a monogram topper. My big mistake was sending them about 20 pics of cakes that were simple as they requested. What I didn't anticipate was that they would change from the monogram to a flower topper. I want to thank Debs71 for the cake design and briannastreats for the topper inspiration. I did a gumpaste version of the real flower topper on the cake she posted.
