This cake I made for a 10 year old who was getting to go to Yankees stadium for his birthday! Brim: I laid a piece of parchment paper on the brim of a real hat, laid the rolled out fondant on it, cut it to size, made the stitching and let it dry on the hat for a couple days. For the grommet circles, I used the smallest circle fondant cutter, cut the fondant in 1/2, rolled into a ball and then used the top of a pearl pin head to make the indention. Hat itself is 1/2 the ball pan on top of 6" round.
