Watermelon Cake
The idea came from the 2008 Wilton Yearbook. This was my first experience with fondant. I learned that you cannot have too much butter cream under the fondant, otherwise it will start to slip.... def learned my lesson! It barely made it to dessert time. But everyone loved it, they thought it was so creative and realistic! Cake- white cake mix with no taste red added to it. 1/2 cup mini choc chips added to batter. After baked, put cakes in fridge to harden the chips up before you level a small bit the top of the cake. The rind is fondant colored with Kelly green and leaf green, then lines added with edible markers.
