This was one of the harder cakes I've done. I simply have to give many many thanks to BakingGirl. (CC member) She answered my many questions about making this cake. (Among other tips!) THANKS ANNE!!! I added a music feature to this cake. I ripped out the song piece from a musical card and placed it on the cakeboard hidded by the base paper. It played the march of the bad guys song from Star Wars. (Not sure of the real name.) The birthday boy loved it! It was my first time delivering to a mall. That was an experience! I was so freaked out that I would drop it. But it was very nice to hear total strangers say, "did you MAKE that?!" Oh, and the lower half of the helmet is black tag board. (grrr) I had so much trouble with the fondant and gumpaste its not even funny. And I didn't want the helmet to go all the way to the base and not be anatomically correct, so tag board it is. I am still pleased with the outcome regardless. :)
