I made this for my father-in-laws birthday this year. He has played chess almost everyday for the last 30 years so needless to say he is a huge fan. The cake was covered in a chocolate fudge icing. The board is made of fondant squares and the chess pieces are made from molded chocolate. We found the chess molds online.
