"hostess"-Like Cupcakes

I had extra choc cc's, so I filled them w/fluffy white filling I use for whoopie pies and put ganache on top. Mmmm!

Thanks gang! Here's the filling recipe: Cook 1 c flour and 5 tbsp flour until thickened. Cool completely. Add 1/2c shortening, 1/2c butter, 1c sugar and 1 tsp vanilla & beat until fluffy.

Um, how do you cook the flour by itself? Something's missing on that receipe, I assume you need 5tbsp of something other than flour. HELP! I want to borrow that recipe!
