Final cake for the Wilton Course I Class. It is a 10" double layer chocolate cake with raspberry filling and Buttercream Dream icing. Used edible glitter on top to give it a finished look. TFL!
Thank you so much for the nice compliments. The design was made with a paper towel. I used a fondant smoother. I took a paper towel (no design) and laid it on top of my cake and lightly smoothed out the BC. Then I took my paper towel with the design against the frosting and used the fondant smoother to press down to give the embossed look.
Your cake looks fantastic! I wouldn't even want to cut into it! Your icing is so smooth and I llove the pattern. I always wondered what it would look like! Unfortunately I can't find any plain (no pattern) paper towels here in Canada. We don't get Viva up here (:-

Beautiful job - really nice.

That is beautiful, you definitely have a lot of talent! I love the designs you put into the sides, how did you do that??
love the colors! great roses!
How do you get the icing to smooth around the sides of a double layer without showing the cake...mine always shows
