Marble

Marble on Cake Central

The many things that went wrong⦠Cake was made in 2 nights â Iâd have given myself 4 for a first-time tiered cake.... It was *supposed* to be a topsy-turvy â hm⦠pastry cream not a good filling choice?... I resolved to boring flat, leveled and mortared but it still flooded out at a few spots⦠Conveniently, I have a bunch of tween girls to blame for the seams showing, they insisted on âhelpingâ me assemble it at the park â when all hands were off the cake, there wasnât a single straight wall in sight⦠:-)

:) THANK YOU, Everyone, this was the greatest CC to wake up to! I used a marbling method I saw in a book: a sausage of one color is twisted around a sausage of the other. I did that twice, with alternating thicknesses, about 12â-15â long. Then all four twisted sausages were twisted again together, turned into a spiral (book said just bend halfway) and then rolled. Sheet looked almost like a rose (!) but was too thin, so I gently folded it (no kneading) with an added small sausage twist in the center.->>

->> Thus, the see-though effect on the first tier. Second tier was made from the lightly kneaded leftovers of the first, twisted with the noire. On the last one, I twisted three sausages â white, noire and the kneaded leftovers. Overall, since I was going for something fast with high impact, I found this to be an easy solution. Marbles were rolled of the random leftovers. Cake was vanilla with pastry cream, middle tier was pumpkin cake with cream cheese filling. Thanks again for the support!
