For my husband's 40th birthday he requested a lighthouse cake. This is my version of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The top had a battery operated tea light candle that flickered.
The lighthouse is made of a cone you put flowers in on a grave turned upside down. It was covered with buttercream and decorated with fondant. The base of the lighthouse, along with the top, is foam covered with bc and fondant. I made a snake like you would with playdough out of fonadant and put it at the top to keep the glass votive steady. The top is all fondant just rounded off. It was all held on the cake with dowel rods into the bottom foam. :)
Oh my gosh - that is so fantastic - can you explain how you did it?
awsome job...how in the world?
8O Wow! What a fantastic job! I love the battery operated tea light idea!
