Ghosts

Ghosts on Cake Central

Styrofoam dummys covered in fondant to make ghost with baby ghost. Dowel rods with outter end covered with a ball of fondant for arms. I learned how to do this at my cake club and thought I'd share.

Terribly cute!!! Was this for a table centerpiece or actual cake topper you learned? How cute!!

Thank you! It was just a demo on how to make the ghosts. We used styrofoam but it could be recreated with real cake under the fondant. I'm using mine as a Halloween decoration.

This is soooo cool! I love it. I think I may be able to figure out how to do the body of the ghosts but how would I do the arms of the big ghost? Any suggestions? What a great job you did. I'm so impressed. I'm new to cake central. I'm just so amazed by the talent on here. I'm so jealous! Got a lot to learn.

The arms on the big ghost are just dowel rods inserted directly into the styrofoam ( or cake if you use that instead). The end that sticks out has a ball of fondant on it to help prevent the draped fondant from tearing and to make a more rounded shape. Thanks for the comments!

To make the ghosts out of cake, just stack small rounds until you get the height you desire. Crumb coat with buttercream and freeze. After frozen, carve the top to make a rounded head shape. Dowel the whole cake for stability.
