Cake - Ribbon Insertion & Mmf on Cake Central

My first time trying ribbon insertion and the MMF! I was just playing around with both to practice for another cake! The rest of the cake was just for practice. Yellow cake with stabilized whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Yum! The MMF tasted so much better than the store bought!

Can I ask was it real whip cream? I heard that if you use whipped cream under your mmf it would disolve the mmf? Is this true how long did the cake last? Was it kept in or out of fridge? Sorry so many questions, Your cake is very lovely, the ribbon insertion is a neat idea.

Hi Pastrygirl - yeah, it was real whipped cream - I stored the cake in the fridge for the most part until I needed to serve it and it was only sitting on there for a day or two. Also the MMF was pretty thick, so it didn't dissolve. Maybe if the MMF was thinner, you might see some warping in the smoothness.
