16" Round?

I have someone asking for a 16" round cake for a volunteer luncheon. I don't have that size pan yet. Does anyone have any tips for baking a cake that size and do you know if it fits in a regular oven?

First I would say measure your oven to make sure it will even fit. icon_wink.gif

When I bake with the larger sizes I use a few flower nails to act as heating cores to help the center cook. icon_biggrin.gif

If it won't fit in your oven you can get a two peice pan. Then you put it together and frost as one cake.

Well you learn something new everyday - I thought only the 18 inch round was available in two pieces, where can people get this 16 inch round pan Peacock?

Heehee, just shows you, I should check these online sites more often. Haha, all I knew about were the biggies. Since a 16 inch fits in my oven, never had any reason to find out about anything under an 18. So we learn something new everyday, thanks! Now I have to check Golda's to see if these are available in Canada too.
