Sorry, cemone, my mind is blank on the 70's except for the couple of things you've already thought of. Maybe you could try a Google search for afro hairstyle, bellbottoms, etc., and get some help there. Janice

I would love to do a 70's theme cake! Sounds fun!

Some ideas:
a disco ball
a lava lamp
psychadelic fuzzy poster
blacklight poster
peace symbol

I'm sure I could come up with more but mu hubby is yelling at me to come to bed!

Hope I've helped!

This sounds like fun!! I think Krissy pretty much hit the nail on the head. Those are great ideas. Also you could add the big "flower power" flower. I did a search for 70's themed cakes and all that I saw were tye-dyed type cakes. The cake was covered in tye-dyed looking fondant. HTH

Lived through that timeframe. Richard Nixon buttercream transfer - ooh scarey, Vietnam war protests, 'Make Love Not War", Watergate. Lovebeads, cross necklaces.

The first thing that came to my mind was a disco ball. You could use the sport ball pan (whole if you're feeling ambitious, half on top of a sheet or round cake.) Ice with chocolate or black icing, make a bunch of fondant tiles, brush or paint with silver luster dust and stick them on. That would be so cute!

Other ideas would be platform shoes or the bicentennial.
