Has Anyone Sent A Sub-Par Cake Off To A Customer?

It was getting late on Friday night, the customer was picking the cake up the next morning. I made the whipped cream buttercream, made with crisco. I usually make this one for the kid's cakes. Anyway, I must have bought a bad batch of crisco, because the icing was lumpy. The crisco was not creaming nicely. I didn't notice until after the crumb coat and I was icing it. I scraped it off, rebeat it, but no cigar. Needless to say, I used it. I felt very nervous the whole next day. What if they noticed the lumps? It was a cake that I didn't ice smooth, it was water so I iced it "wavy", so you couldn't see the lumps. When I tasted a bit, It wasn't too bad, the chunks were small, but still! This is the first time I sent a cake off that I wasn't too happy about. Next time, I have vowed that I will make sure everything is acceptable. Even if that means running to the store at midnight! I made my daughter's birthday cake the next day with the same batch of crisco and same thing happened. I ran to the store, bought new sticks, and everything came out great! The woman said everything was great. I have a friend who attended the party and she said she never noticed any lumps.
I don't think there has ever been a cake that I have sent out that I was 100% happy with decoration-wise, but I have rebaked cakes, remade buttercream etc if they were not up to my standards (which are probably way too high for my own good!). For example - I have 2 8in lemon rounds in the freezer that I need for Sunday, I've never frozen cakes before, but if I don't think that they look or taste good when I defrost them, you can bet I'll rebake them, even though my customers are unlikely to know the difference! We are our own worst critics - always!
The sugar bubbles cakes in my gallery I was not happy with. I love the photos that I have but in transit it was warm and my base layer of bubbles shifted and one rolled down the side of two tiers. I really wished I had some cold spray but I opushed through!
Maybe it is because it is freeeezzziiiing cold here!
I did a cake at the last minute(about 2 days notice) for an acquaintace. I felt extremely rushed and did not like my writing, borders or anything else about it. I used some royal icing roses that I had lying around. I made up my mind that I will need at least 1 week's notice for all cakes that I make for others. I like to have time to prepare what I'm going to do, make the cake and freeze it, make the icing in advance to prevent any bad batches etc. This way baking and decorating is fun and enjoyable for me instead of stressful and anxiety provoking!
I have yet to cash the check of the last cake order I did as I was not happy with it at all and felt bad about taking anything for it. It's the latest floral chocolate wrap cake in my photos. That darn cake was a major disappointment and I have not heard a thing from the friend I did it for so until I do, the check goes uncashed! If they weren't happy, they get it back!
I made a cake for a friend's daughters birthday. The 5th year i've made her birthday cake. I bit off more than I could chew that weekend with a couple large graduation cakes and her cake suffered. I wasn't happy at all with it but she loved it. I must admit that it tasted great though. I was at the birthday party with my son (same age as her daughter). I gave her a steep discount and apologized but she gave me the difference + some as a tip! She didn't see anything wrong with the cake - it wasn't close to what I had in mind.
I did learn that in the future I might have to actually say "No"
