So Satin Ice Can Go In The Fridge, But What If It's Painted?

I've heard that Satin Ice can indeed be refridgerated (which would be great in case someone actually wants a mousse-filled fondant cake, which I can see happening to me this year...)

BUT what about a majorly painted/luster-dusted etc., fondant cake...in the fridge?

Anyone tried it, done it, seen it? I'm just trying to plan ahead for this season.

I have tried several kinds of fondant, all do fine in the fridge. the problem comes when you take the cold cake out into a warm room. Condensation can make a mess of the decorations.

If the room is cool, the condensation is less, and it will evaporate after a while.

Cold cake to hot room- potential big problems.

We have low humidity here. I personally had two three tiered cakes come out of the fridge over the weekend and the room was warm. The cakes stayed matte because it is the middle of winter here and very dry----LOVE THIS!
