Take the cost of the fondant (by weight) and multiply it times 4. That's how I do my sculpted figures.

That's crazy! It costs me around $3.50 to make a 2 pound batch of mmf and you can make a lot of figures out of that. How can you possibly make any money with that formula? That would not even cover an hours wages!

I charge for the entire price of making fondant per pound. Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.

So if I use fondant and I made MMF and it cost me 3.50 to make a 2 lb batch of fondant that 7.00 as the base x 4. That's 28.00, even if I don't use the entire 2 lbs.

If I make a cake and it will take 11 lbs and I make it in 2 lb batches it's 12 lbs x 4 = 48 dollars for the fondant. There is also a hourly labor charge on top of everything. I use Quickbooks to invoice each job and while I am working on a cake I start the labor timer that is built-in to the program and stop it when I"m done.
