I want to make the whimsical cake in the article section of this site, however I don't have all the cake pan sizes used by the author. Where can you find odd sized panes, say 7" and 11"..I have all the other sizes, but have never seen these.

Cindy - I see you are in Memphis. I just live about 2 hours away and my Mom lives in Memphis. Have you tried Mary Carter's or the Baking Botique? I've only been to the Baking Botique once but go to Mary Carter's every time I'm in Memphis and call and have them send me stuff quite often.

You can purchase the odd sizes at Country Kitchen. Here is the link for you:

You can but them online at lots of places. I like countrykitchensa.com because they sell majic line pans. You can make the cake with even sized pans, just gage sizes accordingly.

I didn't even notice the size pans suggested! Why such odd sizes (literally)?

I don't know for sure. I think it adds to making it look lopsided. I wonder if it would do ok if you used the same size pans on each tier. I really was thinking of trying it, but on a smaller scale...
