This is just amazing.I couldn't do this even in my dreams!
If you can think of it someone can do it. I could not fathom. Incredible!!! Thanks for sharing.
ummmm.. weird.. that would so freak me out... I mean how or where would you start to cut that thing and who gets the gross parts, toes, fingers, rearends, nose, etc......
but nonetheless it is pretty cool.. wonder how much that puppy would sell for?
and then I went back to the site and on the bottom left hand side you can click on his bio and there are tons more photos of his work including a marilyn monroe that is unbelieveable.... then look at his wife's work, more my speed ![]()
I saw the Marilyn Monroe cake, and I think I remember seeing...Col. Sanders? I have a couple of his books at home....unreal....
I came across his site a few months back. His work is truly amazing. Did you see the other cakes? Cher, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, etc.?

Roland is an amazing artist in so many ways! I had the opportunity to go demos put on by both him and his wife (separate ones) at the ICES convention in 2005. They are both amazing, but his full-size, life-like cakes are just incredible!
OMG Im soooo jealous!!!!
I'd love to go and do a course with him!!!

He was absolutely amazing. I think the demo I went to with him was on how to make BC characters and he just floored me on how quickly he can make a blob of icing look so cool! In a matter of minutes he was just pumping out so many different things. I actually had more fun in his demo than Colette's.
He also had photo albums out of all the lif-like cakes that he did, along with his airbrushed cakes. The man has talent all around!
I would also love to actually participate in the classes that he offers, but he is all the way over in California and being in NY, that is a little difficult. ![]()

In a decade or two when i finally make it to the USA to do a course, I will come past NY to pick you up on my way to meet Mr Winbeckler.
Let's hope we're all still around ![]()

Holy COW! Oh to have that kind of talent some day. Hey Nati! Swing by Maine and pick me up to will ya? Thanks ![]()
Wow Missy! That must have been so cool to meet him! I'd love to watch him make a sculpture. I have his book on 3D sculptures. I have tried his method of smoothing BC with a paintbrush and hot water but mine doesn't come out anywhere near as smooth as his. You can't even see the brush strokes on his work!
