I just made a batch of brownies (DH box) but instead of adding the water I used pumpkin spice coffee creamer, while they were baking I thought I was just gonna take them out of the oven & eat it raw icon_rolleyes.gif but I did let it finish baking & took them out, they smell out of this world, the creamer is not too strong but just right... Now I'm taking a bite, I think I died & just gone to heaven!!!!
Sorry for being so sarcastic with this, it's just that I've been on a very strick diet for the last couple of weeks & this is the first real food I've had since icon_lol.gif I'm soo glad I took a bite icon_lol.gif

We must have been on the same wavelength. icon_lol.gif I made a big batch of brownies today also, but I filled mine full of candy bar pieces.

Is it ok the give a 4 year old a brownie everyday? I have a problem everyday with her eating her luch on time before school, so today I said told her if you eat all your lunch you can have a brownie... She was done in 2 minutes flat... I really don't even think she tasted the brownie, I think she swallowed it whole... ;o)

Depends on if your 4 yr old is overweight or not. If she's not then it shouldn't hurt. My doc told me as long as my kids ate the good food first then I could fill them up with all the junk food they can eat. They are both tall and skinny.

OMG, is THAT what I've been smelling all morning? YOU ARE EVIL!! icon_twisted.gif Well, an evil genius maybe! Both of those sound great, the pumpkin and the candy. Ugh... what to do now?

As for treats... I am predispositioned to being heavy, so I am concerned with my little guys eating habits, so I try to limit the amount of 'junk', but if you don't give it to them, they will get it somewhere, and they will go hogwild because they never get it. A little here and there keeps it in line. Moderation. That's the secret I guess. Just make them LITTLE brownies! icon_wink.gif And then send me the rest!

Thanks for the responces!

Since I too am a little concerned with what my DD's eat,do you think they will notice if I put some Brocoli in there icon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gificon_twisted.gif
Actually they love veggies. I guess it's just what they do at this age, hopefully she will eat a little faster as she grows icon_rolleyes.gif

Sweet results, I've been using creamers for my cakes & icing for some time now, & I just thought to myself last night about the brownies & le me kid you not, I will never go back to using water!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe broccoli would get noticed, but chopped spinach doesn't - trust me! It makes the brownies nice and dense, too.

Hi Jovi, sorry I missed this thread somehow. I'm in the Beaches area, east of downtown. Thanks so much for the sweet comments on my cupcakes.

I know this will sound bad (an evil mommy trick I learned from the chef at school) When you make green beans, broccholi or whatever veggie...DO NOT throw out the water it was cooked in!!! When you cook the veggies a LOT of the good for you nutrients go into the water once cooked. So save that veggie ridden water and use it to make hot chocolate! I know it sounds gross---but trust me, it workes! I made broccholi hot chocolate a few weeks ago and my kids didn't know the difference, they sucked it down. I have since been giving them hot chocolate laced with green beans icon_lol.gif Try it! My crazy DH couldn't even tell.

Hey, when my brother visits, if you cook grean beans or peas and try to throw out the water, he has a conniption. He learned to LOVE the water! hahaha! That's a country boy right there!

Thanks for the tip! Do you store the water in the fridge until ready to use?
