I've never worked with Satin Ice ,but with any fondant i use 6 pounds for a 12" and for the 10" you'll need about 4 or 5 pounds. It reallty depends on how thick or thin you plan to roll it out to though.

I'm lucky enough to live near the place where it is made....the taste is far superior to Wilton...

4 or 5 lbs of fondant? Are you including the decoration also? I bought a 5 lbs container or Virgin Ice fondant and I covered a 10 and 6 ince cake, made decorations and still had enough fondant to cover another cake left over.

I've covered a 10" square with 28 oz and probably have enough leftover for a 6 or 8" round.

I've used Pettinice by Bakels. It was OK--better than Wilton but not as good as Satin Ice, in my opinion. I found it a bit dry and I wasn't fond of the taste. Definintely a reasonable upgrade from Wilton.

8" 12 oz.
10" 18 oz.
12" 24 oz.
14" 48 oz.
