How many batches did you have to make to cover a 8 inch cake?

wondering the same thing. i got two bags of white chocolate chips and i hope to have enough left to decorate. wondering also if anyone used the kool aid to color it? i don't have any color flow or candy colors so if I want to color it i would need one of those...unless i wanted to try the kool aid. has anyone tried it with chocolate modeling clay?

It's so sweet and charming. Love the colors. How did the taste and texture go over with the guests as opposed to fondant or buttercream?

Chasevp - I made 3 batches of the 10oz of chips and 1/3 corn syrup recipe and I still had probably a softball size maybe a little bigger of clay left and I covered a 9" and a 8" with that.

NikkiDoc - As far as the coloring goes I have never tried kool aid in it but I was reading in one of the post here about modeling clay that you can use your regular colors because of the corn syrup. Not sure where the post is but if I find it and can figure out how to post it I will.

Shirley W. - I talked to a guest there and they said everyone loved it. I asked about all the flavors and they said it was a hit.

It was a mocha cake with chocolate kahlua filling with white chocolate buttercream and then the chocolate clay on top. I was worried it would be too sweet and to much chocolate but everyone said they really liked it.

Thanks again for all your lovely comments! icon_biggrin.gif

Cool! Thanks aubrazacmom. That makes things easier for me. I was worried that the pink (from pink lemonade kool aid) would taste weird in white chocolate!
