I have read here that luster dust is a hard to find item. How else would I get a nice gold color? Is there any food coloring that produces a decent color? I need to do a baptism cake and she wants gold accents and writing on it.

Thanks!

try mixing 10 parts lemon yellow, 3 parts orange and 1 part red.
This should make gold, it just won't be metallic looking. Hope this helps!

You can also order luster dust online. I know Cakes by Sam has it, and lots of other places. Good luck!
