the crusting buttercream i use the crusitng buttercream from this site the one with viva method in title. well i was wanting to add about 8 oz of cream cheese to it and maybe cut back on the crisco. will it still crust? and can i keep it on the counter over night?

i now one woman who substitutes the cream cheese for the butter in her recipe. so it should work.

It will probably work, but don't leave it out on the counter. Cream cheese icings need to be refrigerated.

ok thanks i would think it would need to be but on earlene's site she said she doesnt put her recipe in the fridge. i tried that recipe and it was way way to sweet and not nearly enough cream cheesy for me.

yeah i saw that i did a search and there are mixed reviews on that recipe. makes me super nervous. some people have had issues with it not working right not coming together being super greasy all kinds of things. have you ever experienced any problems?

Probably won't help you today...

Adding cream cheese extract to your favorite b/c recipe yields a great frosting/filling that doesn't require refrigeration icon_smile.gif

awesome i never thought of that. I'm guessing i cant find it in a typical grocery store though. so perhaps its going to be a typical bc icing until next time.
