I'm thinking of ordering some Gold Medal cake mix. It comes in 5 pound boxes on Amazon. It says you only add water, but I'm wondering if anyone has used it with add ins like eggs, oil, milk, etc. Or similar to WAsc? I'm just so tired of these shrinking mixes that aren't good anymore. In the old days, a lot of bakeries used doctored up mixes and they were good and consistent. I love my scratch recipes, but sometimes you just want something quick and good.

If it says you only add water is because is different to the boxed cake mix where you add eggs and oil/butter. I'm afraid if you add extra egg, milk or oil, the batter will be too rich and dense. You can do trial and error... that depends if you are willing to sacrifice money, time and effort for the noble cause of letting us know how it goes! Good luck MamaGeese!
