Hello, I have been bakery from home for years and currently have the chance to open a store front in July. I have searched online for all the requirements I need such as permits, licenses, and insurance. I keep getting different answers and am not sure exactly what I need to get done. Can anyone how has opened a bakery help please? I live in Illinois. Thank you so much.

I am sorry there has been little response.  Being in another state, it will vary of course.  I suggest reaching out to your local small business organization, as they may be able to assist you with such questions and more!  Plus, I find that talking with the city itself often gets me the information I need for things like permits, etc.

Every state (and sometimes every county) is peculiar about requirements. There must be a web page of the health department in your area with the basic info, pay them a visit for more complex matters. But I'm pretty sure there is tons of requirements and paperwork...work on your courage...and your patience! Good luck!
