Check out the cover of Colette's Bday cake book on the left under Purple cake deco. contest. There are some fish on top. Maybe you could mold some fish in green and yellow fondant with a front and back with a popsicle stick in between the fondant and put in the top of the cake.
It's from a book my mom bought me for $1 at a thrift store called "Playing with Plasticine" by Barbara Reid. What a bargain!
What I like about this book is that it breaks everything down into basic shapes - ball, egg, pancake, drop, teepee, snake, sausage, cylinder, box, ribbon. Once it gets down to these, everything else seems less daunting!
I obviously can't scan and send the whole book, but if you have something specific you'd like to do, PM me and I'll see if I have it. I have animals, people, furniture, monsters, cars, boats, etc.
I've also looked through other books about modeling plasticine or modeling clay figures, just haven't bought any others. They are far more specific than cake books, so I love them.
I love the turtles!! I think you should do a bow with the same ribbon too! Do you know that the baby is a boy? Write something w/ boy on the sides of the cake. Welcome baby boy, etc..
I TRIED THE BOW IDEA SOUNDED GREAT UNTIL I RAN OUT SO I MADE A SMALLER ONE WAS WAY TO SMALL AND LOOKS BAD. IM GOING TO TRY THE TURTLE FROMT HE NISTRUCTIONS FROM ALI BUT IM GOING TO DO IT TOMORROW CAUSE I AM WAY TO TIRED TONIGHT. THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP.
