I noticed a single cake can have 2,3, or 4 layers. How much extra do we charge for additional layers after 2? Thank you in advance for your support.

I would take my basic price for 2 layers and divide in 1/2; add tha t amount for each additional layer you make.

Not sure tha t's the best way but I haven't sold a cake for some 10-15 years.   Back then most people charged by the number of servings in each cake.

Thank you Kakeladi. I will try that. Yes we do charge by the slice but adding an additional layer makes it more cake.

also sometimes the two layers are split to make four layers, so the cake is between  four inches and five inches tall — for me this would require no additional charge — just the usual per serving price —

yes though when more layers are added kaching kaching — cakes five inches tall & over should have a higher per serving price — because it makes a taller serving, a bigger serving — but doesn’t make additional servings — so yes you’d be out money —
